Embrace the now. Ignite your future.

Meet Jon Abelack, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

“I’m not where I think I should be.”

It’s not that you don’t think you’re capable of success—you’ve put in the time, done the work, and taken the necessary steps. But something still feels like it’s missing. You’re starting to recognize this imbalance or inconsistency between who you are on paper and how you feel in real life. Truthfully, you’re juggling so many different things in life that your mental health hasn’t been a priority. You’re used to the constant pressure, but what you’re not used to feeling is this sense of worry, concern, or failure.

You don’t have to completely overhaul your life to feel better. You just need new tools.

Together, let’s clear the path and move toward a life of fulfillment.

GET TO KNOW ME BETTER

In our work together, my goal is to help you examine your feelings and identify the elements in your life that contribute to stress, anxiety, or other negative emotions.

By understanding the root causes of these feelings, you can take proactive steps toward alleviating stress or triggers and feeling more present in your life.

I utilize an integrated approach to therapy, primarily drawing from relational therapy (Gestalt), while incorporating elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques. This means we’ll set achievable goals by providing tangible skills for resilience and clarity, while also cultivating self-awareness and making positive internal changes.

Throughout our sessions, I aim to help you gain greater insight into your motivations, instincts, and desires.

Together, we’ll work on recognizing and avoiding cognitive distortions that can lead to low self-esteem, difficulties with emotional vulnerability, and feelings of imposter syndrome.

I will help you set achievable goals and outline the steps needed to reach them. I work with adults and couples, emphasizing a non-linear approach that focuses on the present moment. Rather than diving deeply into your past, we’ll spend most of our time concentrating on the experiences directly affecting your current emotional state today.

Some of my methods

  • I guide clients in recognizing their strengths and identifying their goals. This method emphasizes actionable steps and available resources to help clients achieve their desired outcomes.

  • Using EFT, I assist couples in identifying, understanding, and regulating their emotions. This therapy promotes healthier coping mechanisms and enhances communication patterns, which can lead to reduced marital conflicts and greater security in relationships.

  • I help clients achieve a flow state, which is an optimal state of consciousness for peak performance. This includes identifying flow blockers and triggers, as well as addressing internal and external factors that may hinder their ability to access flow.

    LEARN MORE

  • I utilize the principles of CBT to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns, improve their mood, and reduce anxiety. This approach empowers clients to adopt healthier habits and respond more positively in stressful situations.

  • This method focuses on increasing awareness and understanding of your thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. This approach encourages clients to take responsibility for their experiences and promotes personal growth through self-discovery and improved interpersonal relationships.

My background

With over 20 years of experience in director-level sales and marketing, primarily within the financial services industry, I have developed a deep understanding of the corporate pressures that professionals face every day. My journey has taken me through both startup companies and well-established organizations, allowing me to gain a broad perspective on the diverse challenges and opportunities within the business landscape. So when I say I have a unique understanding of what my clients are experiencing, I really mean it.

I believe in a holistic approach that helps individuals set achievable goals while equipping them with tangible skills for resilience and clarity. My work as a certified Peak Performance Coach, credentialed by the Flow Research Collective, enables me to assist you in reaching your peak performance—both in your professional role and personal life.
